NATIONAL TREASURE:BOOK OF SECRETS
When a page of an ancient diary comes back to light after many many years, a Ben Gates ancestor is accused to have plotted to kill Abraham Lincoln. What Gates could only do is to clear things up on this mistery with his fellow companions in this adventure which will lead them across the world, from paris to London, to get back to America then, seeking for answers that will be more breathtaking than what we expected to be.
Our heroes will face several adventures, Gatess will come to kidnap USA president to have the answer he seeks, but this is not everything, because he will secretly enter Buckingham palace to find a clue hidden into the Resolute desk, the queen’s bureau, a peculiar piece of furniture made of the wood of a war ship called HMS Resolute. A copy of that piece of bureau is in the Oval chamber at the white house in the USA.
Their journey will lead them to the Rushmore Mountain, inside of it, where they will find one of the most intriguing archaeological discovery of all the times.
This is the story of the sequel of the famous National Treasure which hit the screens in 200. The cast is the same of the previous one, with two new entries of all respect: Hellen Mirren (Oscar for best leading actress in 2006 for The Queen) leading the role of Ben’s mother and Ed Harris.
Full of action, mysteries and plots from the ones who would have the worship of wonderful findings, the movie goes on around the world, kidnapping and everything which makes an adventure movie worth of this name.
Many people, probably, would think about the movie as a clone of the famous “Da Vinci code” , which seemed in the previous one National Treasure.
The story this time is different, with codes to encode and family affairs entwined together with them, with adventure scenes so Indiana Jones look-alike.
Perhaps this movie, differently from the previous one, is based on fantastic facts and not on real ones, such as the really unthinkable presence of a pre-columbian city buried under the Rusmore mountain and the reference to area 51 and the alien crash.
It surely is less funny than the previous one, not that rich about innovations.
The story sometimes is thin, and in certain parts the family problems hide the real matter of the entire movie.
And it is too easy for Gates to enter Buckingham Palace and the White House and the private section of the Congress Library, with no one catching a sign of it. Of course it is a movie, but maybe too much surrealistic.
Then, for the ones who are expecting a movie which gives them the answers, it will be a delusion, but for the people who want just to have two funny hours with nothing on their minds but fantasy flights, this movie is really the one for them.
