PUBS IN HELSINKI: LOST & FOUND

Among the most important Helsinki nightclubs we can’t forget to recommend “Lost & Found”. They say this “hetero friendly gay pub” is even THE place where you have to go, if you want to spend the right night, with the right people. To be true, it is quite easy to see a long queue of people waiting for the admission, something that doesn’t happen so often in a not chaotic city like Helsinki. Everyone goes to “Lost & Found”: rockstars (and – they say – their groupies) and normal people, gay and hetero, young people and…less young people (the one limit is just the age: the nightclub is forbidden to people younger than 22) The pub consists of two floors: at the first we find the classic bar , with the tables and the smokers zone, the ideal place if you want to spend a quiet night chatting with your friends. At the lower one, instead, there is the stage where the shows take place and where people can dance (the music is “revival of the ‘80s”) and smoke freely. The pub good arrangement makes it the ideal for private parties: the bar zone can host indeed over 100 people. I’ve been to “Lost & Found” on the evening of this year’s January the 1st : it has surely been the best stop during the nightclubs tour we had decided to experiment together with the girls of “The Flame Club”. We arrived quite late, so we didn’t have to wait, except for a bunch of minutes at the cloakroom. As soon as I entered, I turned on my left and guess who did I see, at a table with his friends in all his normality? Ville Valo. No, I’m not joking. Unluckily, around him there was a horde of fans too, so his “calm evening” took many times the risk of being ruined, but in general his presence gave a touch of magic to the atmosphere of the whole club. It seems Ville’s visit wasn’t a rare case: he himself declared in various interviews to attend “Lost & Found” quite often…maybe it was not a lie. It is possible that a star could appreciate this pub’s atmosphere, because it is very welcoming, amusing and quiet. So, for us who follow almost daily Ville’s job and consider him as a familiar figure, having our idol so near just like he was a friend of ours didn’t seem very strange… “Lost and Found” gave us this dream, for some hours… PS: If you would like to take your chances, the address is: Annankatu 6 – SF – 00120 Helsinki.
